“If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.”
J.R.R. Tolkien (b. 1892- d. 1973), from The Hobbit, Chapter XVIII, spoken by Thorin Oakenshield as he lay dying
I am ending the week with a little J.R.R. Tolkien, and a link* to a delightful 1968 BBC documentary titled, In Their Own Words: British Novelists, Tolkien edition. I think you will enjoy it.
This short documentary contains video clips of the Catholic author himself, which are priceless.
May you have a good weekend.
